How to make a yummy, easy and quick high-protein bagel recipe your family will love!

It's no secret that I love food. I love to create recipes and I love to see the reaction of the people I love when they are experiencing the first bite. There is something so special about the transfer of LOVE energy through food. It for sure is a love language of mine.

Recently I have been searching online trying to find more bagel and bread options for my family that do not include a million ingredients, are not made with oils and sugars and are also not SUPER expensive. I quickly found out that was easier said than done.
I love to make breads, my sister got me on the sourdough train, and although there is WORK behind sourdough baking, it is quite satisfying to me. HOWEVER.. I do not have the time to be making enough loaves for our family of 5 (soon to be 6) every week. I just don't.
So I was researching quick options for bagels and breads to make at home, and came across the new yogurt and flour bagels, that are all all the rave! And let me tell you, I walked in cautiously, however I was quickly impressed.
I spent some time over lunch one day, looking up a handful of recipes so I could adapt for myself and my family. I wanted to make it higher protein if I could and re-create the staple bagels we love in our home (cinnamon raisin, cheese and everything bagels for the WIN)!
So I started with a high-protein, sugar and fat free OIKOS Greek Yogurt and I played around with sourdough discard as well, so now these beauties have both pro and pre-biotics ( will get more into the goodness in this simple recipe in a moment)!
I put together the recipe in 3 minutes, baked for 18, and this high-protein bagel recipe came out PERFECT!
After my first bite, super excited, I sent a picture to my partner, and continued to talk to about them for the rest of the day. He made a comment though that stood out to me, and really inspired a recent IG post I later shared, and the name I chose for this blog post!
The name for the bagels came from my partner comment specifically that he made as I was expressing with excitement that there was only 4 ingredients in them and he said
“No, actually there’s five… Love” ❤️
His comment made me think how often we just go through our days and ignore the fact that the actions that we take, and the food that we put in our body and the relationships that we have all hold forms of vibration and transfer energy!
Love. Pain. Intention. Lack of attention…
Unleashing this understanding has been a big part of my own personal journey.
I have really felt, especially since entering into a pregnancy in my 40's, how critical and how important it is to protect your energy and ensure that the vibrations you’re receiving or admitting are coming from a good place.
To be honest, if you’re always filling your body with quick foods that have no care or love in them, are full of non-nourishing ingredients, and you’re never sitting down to enjoy or experience. It will leave YOU feeling sluggish, hungry, empty, and then even lead to cellular clogging and disfunction.
There’s no denying the research that confirms our cells are directly impacted by the chemicals we put on and in our body. And I’m not here to talk about conspiracy theories, or get you to remove all ultra processed foods from your cupboards completely.
But, if you are open to taking small steps and finding easy ways to adjust your and your families, nutrition and vibrational energy… You can actually see and feel the benefits quite quickly.
When we shifted to a more #wholefoods lifestyle, it did mean that some Sundays I spent making bread or meals for my partner and children to take to school throughout the week, but it also meant that we had some slow down dinners. That we gathered around the table a little bit more like we used to when WE were kids. We asked more questions about our day and listened instead of trying to rush into the next day. These actions create a sense of calmness in both your children and your lives. Create connection.

There’s something so special about telling your partner or hearing your partner say that food was delicious knowing that it came from your heart and not a package. There’s something special about knowing you are nourishing your children . There’s something really cool about not doing exactly what society tells you to do and going back to your intuition.
But what’s even more beautiful and amazing is that research shows that when we do these things, that ...
when we focus on the transfer of energy, the quality of food, and the movement we do throughout the day paired with the love, we intentionally pour over others… it eases the stress and strain on our hormones and body functions.
